Changan unveils UNI-L: The transformation of Lamore
The Chinese automaker Changan maintains its strategy of renaming models by adding a new sedan to its UNI sub-brand. The mid-size Lamore, known to Russian consumers since 2023, will now be marketed as UNI-L.
Since the start of 2023 until September, Lamore has not achieved significant sales success in Russia, with only 101 vehicles sold, all belonging to the 2023 and 2024 production years. Surprisingly, UNI-L is also currently only available as last year's model.
On the technical side, the vehicle remains unchanged, equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine generating 181 hp, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automated transmission. The car is available in the single Tech trim priced at 2,869,900 rubles, with no current information on discounts.
Will the new name boost sales? That question remains uncertain, although some customers may find the name UNI-L more appealing than the previously used Lamore. Regardless, the new model is beginning to reach Changan's official dealerships, while vehicles with the old name still remain in showrooms.
